Walking There are numerous walks from St Ives. These range from twisting coastal paths with great views, to moorland walks and walks from farm to farm through small flower strewn fields. A particular favourite is the coastal walk to Zennor returning through the fields.
Surfing Porthmeor Beach usually has very good surf and wetsuits and boards can be hired from the school of surfing on the beach. Gwithian Acadamy of Surfing (GAS) a short drive across the Hayle estuary, is well recommended. Tel: 01736 755493. Email: tyson@surfacademy.co.uk.

Cycling Cycles can be hired from Penzance and the roads of the peninsula are delightful to cycle.

Sunbathing St Ives has three beaches Porthmeor, Porthgwidden and Porthminster, each facing in different directions and providing ample space for sunbathing.

Country Pubs

There are many small country pubs on the Penwith Peninsula, favourites include The Engine Inn at Criplease, The Tinner's Arms in Zennor and the Gurnard's Head Hotel.
Theatre The Minack theatre is an open air theatre spectacularly sited on cliffs. As well as watching a show during the evening, the theatre is also worth a visit during the day.
Archaeology Penwith has many many bronze age and later sites.
Cafes There are numerous of these in town. Favourites are the beach cafes on Porthmeor and Portminster beaches, good food and very good views.
Art Galleries As well as The Tate and Barbara Hepworth's Studio and Garden, St Ives boasts of over forty Art Galleries catering for all tastes.
Pasties St Ives seems to produce enough pasties to reach to London and back each day, however Pengennor Pasties seem to produce some of the best.
Clubbing The Isobar night club is a lively venue in the summer months.
Drawing Life Drawing classes are available at the St Ives School of Painting five minutes from the apartment on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Jazz
St Ives Jazz Club meet for live music at the Western Hotel every Tuesday evening. Ives Jazz

Museum St. Ives Museum, - open from end of May to September - a fascinating insight to over 200 years of the town's history, situated between Porthgwidden Beach and the Harbour and easily accessible from the town centre
Wildlife Birdlife is abundant on the peninsula. Grasshopper warblers and Hobbies can be regularly seen. Seals can be seen around the harbour or a regular boat trip is available to see them close to an island on the coast. Basking sharks are often seen in summer along with Dolphins.
