are numerous walks from St Ives. These range from twisting coastal
paths with great views, to moorland walks and walks from farm to farm
through small flower strewn fields. A particular favourite is the
coastal walk to Zennor returning through the fields. |

Porthmeor
Beach usually has very good surf and wetsuits and boards can be hired
from the school of surfing on the beach. Gwithian Acadamy of Surfing
(GAS) a short drive across the Hayle estuary, is well recommended.

Birdlife
is abundant on the peninsula. Grasshopper warblers and Hobbies can
be regularly seen. Seals can be seen around the harbour or a regular
boat trip is available to see them close to an island on the coast.
Basking sharks are often seen in summer along with Dolphins. |
